That’s right, we’re at it again and so soon after the $1,000+ Zelda marathon for Doctors Without Borders. This time around we’re going to be playing through 22 Mega Man games in 72 hours while raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association. Their local branch is helping us out quite a bit with this and we’d like to thank them for that. The group’s mission is simple: to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. For more information on them and our local chapter, please head over to their site.
Ummm…things aren’t looking too good. The biggest game-to-movie adaptation yet isn’t pulling in very good reviews. There are some highs and lows, but as you can see, the average is less than…average. Hit up the link below to check out what all the critics have said thus far.
“Our definition of a “booth babe” has been a model (male or female) that has been hired to stand/sit in skimpy clothing to market the product. If that person knows the product inside and out then it’s less of an issue. A company representative that can interact with attendees in a way that provides value as opposed to ‘hey stare at my body’ is something that we encourage whether or not that representative is physically attractive or not. Over the past few years, I’ve heard both sides plead with me to change/enforce it one way or the other. So I thought it would be helpful to actually hear from the community on this.” – Robert Khoo, Penny Arcade’s president of business development
Now you can let your voice be heard by filling in the survey with what you think is right/wrong for PAX to feature. I understand that booth babes don’t often know about the games they are demoing, but perhaps the companies involved could do a better job of informing them. Think of it this way…gaming snobs are going to turn their noses up to booth babes no matter what, even if they are well informed.

I’d say this is a pretty big step for the game industry. Getting some characters on this list is sure to raise the profile of video games in the eyes of the ‘hep cats’ that read Entertainment Weekly. I wish there was some Mario representation on there, but at least there’s one character that has hit multiple Nintendo platforms.
