While many of Zynga‘s Facebook games will allow you to reach Level 100 or even 200 in terms of experience points, Hidden Chronicles is the “odd man out.” A new update has increased the game’s level cap, seeing users being allowed to hit Level 50 with enough dedicated play, and new items have been added to the game’s store to offer incentive for users to reach that new cap.

There are actually quite a few items that will unlock as you make your way to Level 50, from cars and statues to plants and furniture, and items are available for both relatively small amounts of coins and large. For instance, a Flamingo Topiary will set you back just 700 coins, while a large Pool Bar costs 20,200 coins. As you might expect, these items come with Estate Points that are appropriate for the costs, so you’ll earn more points and will therefore unlock more scenes for making larger investments.

Is Level 50 a high enough cap to satisfy veteran players? We’ll have to wait and see, but at least this increase is better than nothing.

What do you think of this new higher level cap in Hidden Chronicles? What level have you reached in Hidden Chronicles thus far? Let us know in the comments!

Andrew Lloyd Webber, the famed composer behind musicals like Cats and Jesus Christ Superstar, is working on a video game for the Nintendo Wii.

Not much is known about the game other than that it will feature singing and dancing competitions set to the tune of Webber's music. It will feature 32 songs from Webber's library of music, as well as cameos from famous singers of his music like Donnie Osmond.

Look (or listen) out for the game on September 14.

    Grid 2 teased
It looks like Codemasters is poised to bring its Grid racing series back for another lap. Earleier today we saw the teaser trailer above, which depicts a car spinning its wheels, followed by a logo identical to the one used by the original Grid in 2008, save for the extra “2.”

According to the trailer, “The Race Returns” on August 8, 2012. Codemasters further teased the video on its official Twitter account. “This looks… interesting?” the company wrote, before doling out the obligatory promotional hashtag, #TheRaceReturns.

Codemasters was partly acquired by Indian company Reliance Big Entertainment in 2010, after which it promised another Grid game. “In Southam it’s full steam ahead with the next iteration in our Flashpoint series, as well as the next Dirt and Grid,” said Gavin Cheshire, former VP of studios at Codemasters and current CEO of Caperfly. We guess they’ve been gassing up the cars this whole time.

Here’s something to blow your mind. The men’s gymnastics all-around gold medal winner is Kohei Uchimura. He also happens to hold a position at Konami! There’s actually three Konami employees participating in the Olympics, but Uchimura has really achieved success.

This is what happens when you ship over 200,000 units of a Wii game. Well, this is what happened for Namco Bandai, anyway! Family Fishing shipped over 200,000 units in its first year, which convinced Nintendo that they needed to send Namco Bandai a nice award.
